Facing the giant - How to win in an overwhelming situation

Facing the giant
(1011120951-1001)

So often there is
something or someone
I am afraid of
and that fear paralyzes
my every day activities.
My thoughts center around it
my actions become avoidant
and my feelings are occupied
with this giant.
What good is an aggressive fight
against this enemy?
I have tried it so many times
and it just makes matters worse.
What good does running away do?
I have tried it for so long
and it just prolongs
my misery.
Fight or flight doesn’t give me
the result I am looking for.
So many times my enemy
is not even aware of the issues
and it is the giant inside of me
that has turned out to be
an even bigger enemy.
My thoughts
my feelings
and my actions
are all keeping me
from inner peace.
The other person
has only initiated my stress
the real giant
I have to face first
is my very own attitude.
Once I have battled with it,
I can sort out my thoughts anew.
Once I have conquered it,
I can address the issues
with the actual person
in truth, love and calmness.
Once I have done that
I have faced this giant too.
That is the only way to win.

Theme:   How to win in an

Instead, speaking the truth in love,
we will in all things grow up into him
who is the Head, that is, Christ.
