The lowest path - God does not even spare his son to walk the lowest path

The lowest path
(2012140606-0626, 2012140703-0714)

In all simplicity
you allow for your son
to be born.

Mary was rejected
when it became clear
that she was pregnant
and Joseph was not the father.

The newly pregnant mother
had to fear for her life.
But in the midst of all the difficulties
you had a plan.

Joseph had no other choice
but to take along
his highly pregnant wife
on the strenuous trip
from Nazareth to Bethlehem.

When they arrived there
no place was prepared
for the arrival of your son,
no housing,
no hygiene,
no help from anyone.

Only afterwards
did Mary and Joseph
find out that you had twice announced
the arrival of your son.

The shepherds saw and heard the angels
that had appeared to them.
The wise men knew how to read the stars
and went on their way in time.

But not spectacular at all
was the birth in the stable.
Lower than that
no human could have seen
the light of the world.

As the highest king,
you had chosen the lowest path
for your son.

Let us not feel too good
to walk that path as well.
