Authors note 4: Merry Christmas

Authors note 4: Merry Christmas

Today believers throughout the world celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ. Even though no one knows his actual birthday it was agreed upon a long time ago to celebrate it on the 25th of December. In the northern hemisphere it is the darkest time of the year. Jesus also came into the darkness of our souls and is like a light, which gives us brightness and warmth. When a person lives by his principles he gets the necessary orientation in order to find the way in the maze of this life. This is true for all people no matter what culture or religion they belong to because Jesus came for all. The biggest gift to humanity ever came from God himself: Jesus. One who points the way. One who restores us. One who has spared no misery to free us from our misery. One who knows us through and through and loves us anyway. One who forgives completely and has a good plan for us. One who gives us eternal life in God’s presence and love. No one else in this world ever had such abilities and no one else can love like he does. His love is healing and that is the biggest gift for us. The Bible teaches that in Jesus God is with us. And if God is with us then he wants to restore us and make us into people who feel good about ourselves again no matter if the outside circumstances are not ideal. Jesus was born in the midst of chaos back then and in homelessness. He wants to come right into our chaos now be it inward chaos or outward or both in order to show us the way with his light and his warmth so that we can have joy again. Everyone who searches for him with an open heart will find him. No one who is angry with him or just wants to accuse him will find him for Jesus will only be found when we search for him and not when we accuse him. In Jesus God gives us the chance to have a relationship to him again which was broken due to our own mistakes. This is God’s unique gift to all of humanity. Thank you God for your endless love for us, thanks God for Christmas, thanks God for Jesus!
