Children - Our status with God and among each other

Children
(2507120602-0622)

When God called us
to follow him
he adopted us
into his family.
He gave us the right
to be his children.
And he made all of us equal,
so there is no different
status among us.
The one who has
a different status
according to the Bible
is Jesus: he is the first.
And he chose to serve all of us;
he washed feet,
he was humbled without an end,
and he died for us.
God only has children.
He has no grandchildren –
there is no one lower
and no one higher
according to the Bible.
So why in the world
do we think
we can make differences
and regard one person
better than the other?
God has given each one of us
unique talents and abilities,
and we need each other
in order to share God’s love
in this starving world.
How can we let God’s light
shine through our life
when we mistreat
our own family?
If we are God’s witnesses
in this world,
and we are to be recognized
by our love,
then there are a few things
we need to change
before that love becomes real.
The rest of the world
around us is not dumb.
They are not fooled
and if they see us
mistreating each other,
it is no wonder
they reject
our loving heavenly father also.
We should not be surprised
about all the chaos around us
when we ourselves
tolerate chaos
within God's family.
Yes I know this is
an age-old problem
embedded in our behavior
since generations.
But if we do not start
addressing it
and loving each other,
our loving God
will not be recognized
through us,
and neither healing
nor restoration will take place.
Let us be gracious
for being God’s children
and stop treating
our brothers and sisters
as if they were not!
God has given us
an awesome responsibility.
Let’s not be sidetracked.
It is never too late
for a new start
in God’s family.

Theme:   Our status with God and among each other

In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will- Ephesians 1:5

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. John 1:12-13

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. Ehesians 5:1+8

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1.John 3:1a

This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother. 1. John 3:10

Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1.John3:18
