The cost of sin - Who pays for sin

The cost of sin
(3006122011-2029,0107120506-0531)

What does all my sin cost?
The entire misconduct
that has been collecting in me
for all these years
and constantly judges my conscience.
How do I know
that I really paid enough for it?
How do I know
that I did not forget anything?
Always those feelings of guilt.
With how much money
do I get rid of them again?
And what happens
when I notice
that it does not work this way?
Is the reason then that I have not
paid enough?
What does the Bible
really say to that?
If it is God’s guideline
for all of humanity
then surely it has an answer.
I actually found an answer there:
My trespasses
need to be paid with life.
That was one piece of the news,
however it gets better:
God’s gift to us
is eternal life because of Jesus Christ.
He already paid for me.
So if that is a gift
what do I have to do to receive it?
A gift can only be used
when I accept it and claim it.
God has his gift
of reconciliation available
for all humanity
because of what Jesus did.
It is not something
I can purchase
with money or deeds.
His gift is so valuable
that I could never afford it myself.
After I realized that
I started to get to know Jesus
the way the Bible reports about him.
If it is really a gift
for me as well,
then I want to have it too
for I am sick and tired
of the weight
I have to carry around.

Theme:   Who pays for sin

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3: 16-18a
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned ...

John 1:12
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
